General Counsel at Loon

Jennifer Miller serves as General Counsel of Loon, the Alphabet moonshot company. As Loon’s inaugural General Counsel since January 2018, she has built and currently leads Loon’s worldwide legal, regulatory, government relations and compliance teams. Jennifer represents Loon globally and works with governments and partners on a wide variety of regulatory and other matters to help bring internet connectivity to the unconnected.

Loon is working to connect people everywhere by inventing and integrating audacious technologies. Using a network of balloons traveling on the edge of space, Loon is making it possible to extend internet access to the billions who currently lack it. To date, Loon’s balloons have travelled more than 30 million kilometers around the world. Loon is a subsidiary of Alphabet, Google’s parent company.

Selected as 2017 Corporate Counsel of the Year by the Silicon Valley Business Journal, Jennifer works with innovative companies to reach their goals by addressing new and evolving technologies and regulatory landscapes. Prior to Loon, Jennifer worked at a variety of Silicon Valley’s top technology companies including Cisco, HP and Gigamon. She received her law degree from Georgetown University Law Center, a Master’s degree from The George Washington University and her undergraduate degree from Mount Holyoke College.

Jennifer is an active member of Advancing Women Executives (AWE), the Women’s General Counsel Network, Women in-House Support Equality (WISE) and a former Board Director of Leading Women in Technology, a non-profit dedicated to unleashing the potential of technology professionals. She is also an active community volunteer, having served on multiple nonprofit boards, and a regular speaker on topics such as leadership and career development, managing corporate risk, cyber-security, managing outside counsel and privacy.
